This Ancient Roman glass comes from Caesarea Israel, and is an authentic piece of ancient times. The glass was buried in the earth, in Israel, over two thousand years ago. Rain water brought minerals to the glass that did not observe them. The minerals interacted through centuries of time in the earth to create an iridescent natural patina over the glass. The beautiful light blue and rainbow colors display of this spatina, are the known quality signature of ancient Roman glass. It symbolizes the beautiful co-creation of nature and humans. In addition, the artist used an 18k solid yellow Gold bezel around the top mezuzah cap. The Mezuzah body is made of Fine Silver (999),and the caps body, and table for ancient Roman glass setting are also made with Argentium silver (935, oxidation resistant). The ancient Roman glass is coated with a special resin, to protect and preserve the natural patina. Some of the authentic earth material is still embedded in the glass.
