Holly the Dolphin

Also known as Mom's Love.  I was free diving with my husband Joe in Dolphin Village, Sinai. There was a dolphin living in the bay who was friends with a deaf fisherman. When we went into the water, we noticed that everybody was chasing her... She had a baby called Jimmy who was swimming alongside her. We decided to just hold still in the water, and sure enough she and her baby came close to us. The baby dolphin was very playful with Joe, swimming in circles together underneath me. Holly, the mom, was going back and forth looking at us. I was taken by her motherly love and the beauty of these creatures. When we had our first son, I painted Holly from my memory and from the few pictures we took underwater of her and Jimmy.
